So we need to keep making those small, deliberate efforts. To reach out. To connect. To do what so many around the globe cannot.
When your child's school goes into lock-down, the first email to their teacher should be "Are you OK? Take care of yourselves, take care of your family".
But we also exist, I believe, to enable people to let go of their stories and their realities...
Until we as a society make ways to work together differently, to do better together. We'll keep paying the cost.
If we value a strong and functioning civil society, then as a collective we must decide how to consider the complexity and costs of what it is to be that civil society.
